Found something out tonight

Driving home tonight in my C3 Aircross, a little bit of mist about so the clever Ones had their fog lights ON. I thought I'd see what they were like and switched them. Fine nice spread of light then I put the heads on main beam and the fogs go off. Dipping the heads doesn't bring the figs back on.
Don't recall this happening on other cars I've owned. Good idea.
My Aircross is fitted with the gutter illumination system, where the fog light on the turning to side come on under 27 mph if the wheel is turned more than 5 degs or the indicators are activated.
