Hi all,

I have recently bought a 2019 C5 Aircross with keyless entry. There is no issue with the driver door keyless opening, but the passenger side is having none of it!

If I press unlock on the key fob it is fine so it’s something to do with the hand motion/touch sensor I assume.

It will neither unlock when I put my hand around the handle, or lock the car when I touch the two ridges.

Has anyone had this issue and sorted it? I assume it a new handle fitting, but how big of a job is this?

Thanks in advance!

Rob

Can you confirm you don't have selective locking switched on in the multi-function screen - you'll need to check this first.
There are 3 sensor transmission areas on this vehicle. One on the left door area, one on the right door area and one in the boot area.

If 'selective locking is enabled, then only the door will open in the vicinity where the hands free fob is located, i.e. the left or right door depending on which side you are on. If selective unlocking is disabled, then the hands free fob can be in any one of the three zones for any of the doors / tailgate to open.

If you have checked this out first and it is not set to selective locking, then you may have a faulty door handle. The handle contains the aerial, a front locking sensor and rear unlocking sensor and a control module. It won't be the locks in tie doors as we know these are working via the push buttons on the fob. So check the locking status first, then assume it's a faulty handle if the locking status is for all doors.

Hi,

Thanks for your response. I don’t have selective opening enabled and the boot opens fine.

Is it literally just the outside handle that likely needs replacing? Or is it some of the internal components?

I am just trying to figure out if it’s worth the hassle getting it fixed?

I have same problem and thought it was the fuse, so paid for it to be changed...but OK! Getting to it was very difficult though...a messy job for even a professional!!
