Hello,

I’m the new owner of a 20 plate C5 Aircross 1.2 Manual - 28200 miles.

Putting it into reverse can be difficult and needs some pushing. I’ve seen on the cactus forums that this is common because apparently reverse has no synchromesh.

Sometimes going into 1st and 2nd are not difficult but a bit not by. All other gears are fine.

Clutch bite seems fine, no vibrations, but if gearbox whine but again apparently this is normal for PSA group cars?

Can anyone advise if this is normal or do I need to go back to dealer?

Thanks

Very few manuals have synchromesh reverse gears but I am aware some Japanese cars have one. If you have trouble selecting gear, try moving to neutral, raise and relower the clutch and it may go in easier.
