Not sure which procedure you are referring to, but this is correct for either system:

For vehicles without Keyless entry / starting:
  • Switch off the ignition.
  • Turn the key to position 2 (Ignition on).
  • Immediately press the closed padlock button for a few seconds.
  • Switch off the ignition and remove the key from the ignition switch.

For Vehicles with Keyless Entry and starting:
  • Place the electronic key against the back-up reader on the steering column and hold it there until the ignition is switched on.
  • Switch on the ignition by pressing the "START/STOP" button.
  • With a manual gearbox, place the gear lever in neutral then fully depress the clutch pedal.
  • With an automatic gearbox, while in mode P, depress the brake pedal.

Hi, so as Juan Sheet suggested above, it has not worked. I have tried both fobs and neither are connecting to the car. I had bought brand new batteries too. I'm lost as what to do next. It's so annoying holding the fob against the steering colour to start and stop. Any other ideas would be appreciated

It seems odd that both fobs stopped working after battery channels.
Are they CR2032 BUTTON cells. I ask because there is a CR2016 Button cell but it is only ½ the thickness, it will fit but won't t make contact.

Some batteries have a clear plastic sticker on them, if you haven’t noticed this, the battery won’t be connecting.

That said, I had exactly the same issue with both keys and in the end an auto locksmith fixed them. He said the battery carrier inside the key has become disconnected from the circuit board, he fixed it ins seconds and didn’t charge me but I had him make me a new, much better quality key.

Thank you coopecs. There was a red sticker on the battery, which was stopping the connection. Both fobs now working. Thank you everyone for your tips.
