Yes! If you have a 1.2 engine, these will be wet belts (belt in oil systems) and early belts can break up, causing oil starvation and in worst case scenario catastrophic engine failure.
Hence the early change interval to replace with a newer type belt. Once t his has been done, you can generally expect a much longer service life. Your dealer will advise of the next change for you but is generally double the life of the initial belt.
