Hi Folks,
We Bought a Citroen C3 Aircross Shine at the end of August with 4700 miles on the Clock. It was first registered in mid January 2023 and was originally supplied by the Citroen dealer Penton Motor Group in Salisbury Wiltshire.
How it ended up with a specialist car dealer in Central Scotland, goodness only knows.
However it was advertised on Auto Trader and as we were visiting Stirling to look at some C3s Aircross there, we decided to go a bit further on to Grangemouth and have a look at it, A deal was done.
We are very pleased with it so far, it replaced my wife's C3 Picasso which we bought new in June 2015. It did us very well over our 8 years of ownership, and hope the Aircross can do equally as well.
As said it is a Shine spec Though having checked the full specification, we found some items missing from the build and wonder if any one can comment;
The first item missing was the removable Flex Load removal platform in the Boot which I had noticed at the time of sale but the supplier advised that was the way it arrived with them.. However I found one on e-bay at a very reasonable price in comparison to buying a brand new one . It arrived in excellent condition and now fitted in the car.
The next issue concerns the reversing sensors, which are not present as they should be, according the the full spec I have downloaded from the Dec2022/July2023 spec sheets from Citroen.
Having read through some previous posts on the forum, I noted the this item was missed off some builds due to the shortage of the sensors, with many car being built without them. I understand our car was built late December 2022/early January 2023. Does anyone know if there is a special price for having these missing items fitted, or if a reversing camera can be fitted instead. I will probably get a camera fitted at is first service, which will be due in January 2024.
I have noted that Citroen sometimes do not fit these sensors if a camera is to be fitted. So it begs the question. did they forget to fit the camera.
The next very important item missing was the Vehicle Owners Handbook, which the dealer noted was missing, saying these are probably not issued now when the cars is new, and which is now a common issue evidently with some manufacturers. Not a thing I have heard of before, but that is what was said. Citroen however, e-mailed me the correct Owners Manual to download and I have printed off a copy. I would prefer to have a glove box sized official copy, though a very helpful Citroen dealer advised it could be difficult to obtain,,.They had a recent experience where it took a year for them to get hold of one for a customer. There are copies on e-bay but for 2017/2021 models.
The other items missing were Floor mats which should have been included in the spec I believe. However I have bought some new ones from Citroen Direct and now all fitted.
As said, we are enjoying the car, which runs very smoothly indeed, being very easy to drive, with the 6 speed gearbox being a delight to use . Some road tests i have read complain about the gear selection which baffles me, as i find if very light and precise at all times. Also worthy of note is an improvement to the rear suspension over the C3 Picasso, which at times felt it was struggling in some road condition now and then, especially when cornering. It wasn't bad in anyway, but the Aircross feels more grounded by comparison.
Sorry if this is a bit long winded, but just thought it was worth mentioning the issues experienced, to be used as a pointer for anyone on the look out for, or considering the purchase of a fairly new Aircroos Shine.

So reading through this version of War & Peace ( :D ) it seems you have resolved most issues now.

1) Anything missing from the specification would of been discussed at original vehicle purchase time and agreed with customer at the time if anything was not provided as stated. Yes there were shortages of chips post-covid that had an effect on the motor industry and the parking sensors were on back order for those waiting for replacements due to faults.

2) Later models have had specification changed, there's some posts on here regarding that where reversing sensors were fitted but no camera and vice versa if I remember correctly.

Citroen can fit as an accessory some equipment, but exactly what you can have done will depend on what you have already. Best to speak to your local dealer as to what accessories are compatible with your build.

As for the camera, it depends as I say on the specification at the time AND whether some equipment was optional on top of that (i.e. part of an option pack) as these are additionally available and separate to equipment within each trim level. So not everything is included in the top specification - there are optional extras.

If you want to know if said camera was fitted at factory or not, I'll need the VIN and I can check for you.

For your info a recent which magazine picked the Nextbase 422GW (£145) as a excellent dash cam, you can add 3 types of rear cams to it.
One fitted inside car captures road behind car but has a restricted view, another views cabin while a third is fitted to to the rear window for the best view all at £69.
Halfords have a installation service £50 or both for £120.

Thank you for that information Airtool.
Could be an alternative worth thinking about.

It's sad but supposedly COVID is responsible for degrading the specs. My first 2017 C3 hatchback automatic came with everything included in the Flair spec.
My first 2020 C3 Aircross automatic came with a heads-up display, multicoloured dash and a sub woofer, rear view camera and front and rear sensors along with self parking ability. That was a Flair spec too.
Sadly my 2023 C3 Aircross Shine Plus automatic was shown as having rear sensor no mention of front and if I wanted a rear cam the sensors are deleted. The head up display still option, no sub woofer or blindspot monitor. Sad.
The lack of sensors does make you more aware when reversing. One item I didn't expect was faux leather seat. Personally I'd have preferred the cloth version.
That said it's a great car and very comfortable but for a top end spec a bit lacking

Many thanks to Juan for forwarding the Build details of our C3 Aircross Shine. It has revealed some interesting items which the car should have been built with but in fact are not fitted and missing from the specification list as shown at the bottom of my first post.
A very detail document and very worthwhile having .
Having said that I hope it does not make Juan too busy.

I enquired 3 weeks ago to exchange our 20 plate for new shine with a worse spec than our petrol flair. main dealer offered a reduced price of £22,295, buying one 6-9 mths old around £18,000 which to me is far better value.

That is what we did Airtool, though be careful in making sure any car looked at has the specification you wish to have..
Other than the missing reverse sensors, the removable Flex Load Platform and interior mats missing, the car was in excellent condition with 4700 miles on the clock. there is not a single mark or scratch of any kind on the Paintwork or the Alloy Wheels. Likewise the interior finish is perfect also. I was anxious to give the car its first wash on getting it home as that is often when any flaws can be found. But all was good and confirmed our close inspection before purchase was confirmed to have been good..
The only thing now is for the reversing sensors or camera to be fitted at some point. Probably get it done when the car is in for first service due in January 2024.

Hi, i have just bought aircriss puretech shine (registeted fMar 23) today. Within the spec from Cazoo it states it has reverse sensors but cant seem to activate them Reading this I fear they are mossing. Is it the citreon dealers responsibility to retro fit them?
