Yes - on the map, use your finger to scroll to the location you want to save.
Tap the point on the map and a menu will appear at the top - choose the right icon that looks like a floppy disk.
You can then select the type of entry to save it as.
I've listed a few of the official videos here, but on the top video, go to time index 3:20 and it will show the steps I mentioned above.
