You totally massacred that VIN, luckily I got it from the last 8! Yes, 7mm cam chain.

Hi

I have heard that this engine is the one used in the Ford Focus Ecoblue 1.5TDCi, which is what I have.

Mine is 2020 model. Is this correct and if so is it possible to find out whether mine has the 7mm or 8mm chain?

Thank you

I’ve been to the official Peugeot service center several times for minor issues. Recently, I went to refill AdBlue and casually asked about replacing an 8mm chain. They seemed a bit confused, called the manager, and he told me I would need to schedule a vehicle inspection to see if my car qualified for a replacement under a campaign. Today, I went for the inspection, and they confirmed they would replace the 8mm chain and camshafts, but mentioned that the parts would take about a month to arrive.
Interestingly, they didn’t mention anything about the campaign until I brought it up myself.

Take it you must be in Europe as the uk appear to not be able to tell if it’s excessively worn without stripping it, which could result in a huge bill if no signs of wear and there attitude is we won’t do anything until it breaks and only if it meets with out warranty requirements and leave us with no courtesy vehicle for 2-3 months

But first make sure you've read the bit in red of this post:

I did read it, thank you Juan, and my car is from before 2023. I read somewhere that cars affected by this chain issue is from Dec. 2019, is this correct or false?

Forgive me, correct VIN will be: VF73AYHZRKJ670314

Any additional information will be appreciated, thank you Juan!

Hello Juan!

Could you please tell me if my chain was replaced or if I have any free campaigns?
Could you kindly check if this VIN is also the 7mm chain.
Thank you. I really appreciate!
