Citroen C5 Aircross Footrest

Hi Everyone.
I wonder if anyone knows how to remove the footrest on my C5 Aircross?
I've got pretty large feet & find that I'm constantly hitting the footrest with my left foot when trying to depress the clutch, often preventing me from
fully depressing it. TBH it's driving me round the bend.
I've had a look at it, hoping it was perhaps just clipped on, but with no success - I'm thinking it's attached to the carpet?
The car is new to me but is my second Aircross & the previous one did not have the footrest.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think you're stuck with it. It's not something that can be removed - it's part of the floor pan having had a quick look. Maybe time for some winkle pickers?
