Yesterrday, I opened the boot from inside and the bank of switches push into the dash.
Does anyone know how togain access to the back of the dash as I can't reach it from below.

On the RHD C5 aircross you pull the cover under the steering wheel horizontally towards you to access this switch block, there are about a dozen clips holding it in place and it takes a bit of effort to get it loose. It also covers access to the OBD port and access to the cabin filters.
The switch block is a push fit into a metal bracket, ISTR, and can be pulled out as a unit. I had a problem with the boot switch popping back out under the dash too, and discovered it had not been pressed into the block correctly, probably because it wasn't a good fit and needed quite a lot of force to click into place.
