My C5 aircross unfortunately brokedown on me and my family in York yesterday morning (was going on a day trip since the kids are on school holiday)

Warning light for a battery charging fault, stop the car came on. Managed to get it safely into a car park (with a few stop, starts and hazards on) where we were going. Upon calling out our breakdown provider they came out and said the alternator was on its way out. Was only giving 11.8v when idle.

Unfortunately there was no garage locally that could look at it that day (or for the next 2 weeks) so it's being sent on its way back up to my local garage who also can't see it for 2 weeks.

Just lucky I don't need the car for work.

Just an update as finally got the car back last night.

The alternator had failed (only giving out 6v), shame the car wasn't under warranty as it would of been fixed for free as it shouldn't of failed at less than 24,000 miles.

Price of a genuine citroen replacement is ridiculous though at nearly £1,200 so was an aftermarket one installed at £450 total.
