Glovebox and surround

During installing a dashcam using the hardwire method I had the glove box open and I lost balance and slipped and hit the glovebox lid and it became totally detached from the housing it came out with a fairly load crack looking at the lid there does not seem to be any damage to the lid its self I have got it to close but there is a gap either side at the bottom of the lid its clearly not correct the question is has anyone managed to fit the lid with the outer surround in situ or does the surround have to be removed to fit the lid back?
There are 3or 4 screws that are in plain site holding the surround but it is fastened elsewhere maybe by hidden screws and poppers
Has anyone taken off the surround if so how please?
