Thank you, Juan. I had not realised that the Collision Risk Alert was adjustable.
If the OP finds that he is getting unwanted alerts then perhaps his car's Collision Risk Alert is set to "Distant".

For clarification here, I'm talking about the camera only system - as the radar and camera versions (if fitted) have different operational parameters.
If the vehicle is travelling at speeds of 15 MPH or less, the system will not work
If the vehicle has the system configured to 'Near', the level 1 alert will not be shown - it will go straight to level 2.
So the only way I would want to put this to the test passively, is by placing an inflatable object (which has to be minimum of 1 meter tall) on the road surface of a track or unused car park where you can go at least 16-20 mph to test the system.
Personally, I have mine set at 'Far' to provide as much warning as possible.
