Hello everyone! Given the chances that the chain snaps with minimal or no warning signs at all, I was wondering if it could make sense to replace the 7mm chain with a new one at some point, that is finding a manufacturer that provides the equivalent of the original chain (7mm) and replace also timing belt and water pump. I was thinking of Denso, SKF, etc....
At least, say at 30/40000 miles, the engine would benefit from fresh new components and hopefully it may stay in good shape for longer?
Thanks for any suggestions and feedback

Good afternoon, I wonder if anyone could possibly help. My 64 plate Citroen spacetourer died on the motor with no warning and a fault code reader has indicated an issue with the timing belt tensioner. It is still on a PCP finance deal and as such I have been asked to supply documentation to evidence a known fault or problem that may place liability on the manufacturer and finance company. Does anyone have any documentation in relation to the issues highlighted with this engine? Thanks very much.

Hello,
I'm new to the forum but before I registered I read all 58 pages of this topic. I know that the forum is specialized for aircross but is it possible to check if my Peugeot 308 II 1.5 blue HDI manifactured in January 2020 has 7 or 8 mm chain. I tried to read the number on the cover but I could find it. My VIN is VF3LCYHZPLS060059
Thanks in advance!

Hi all, I'm new to the group and looking g to purchase a c5 aircross with a vin no.of VR7ACYHZSNL056762, could anyone confirm whether this diesel engine has the upgraded 8mm timing chain or the earlier 7mm chain.
Also are there any other common faults I should keep a look out for. Thanks in advance.

Hi everyone,
I’ve been reading through previous posts about issues with the engine timing chain, and I’m a bit concerned about whether my car might be affected.
I own a Citroën C4 III, registered in March 2023, with the VIN VR7BBYHZBNE073594. Could anyone help me verify if my vehicle is part of the affected batches.
Any advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance.
