I filled up Thursday morning at Sainsbury's and noted the the pump had a new sticker on it which reads E10. Last time it was E5.
This is the introduction of 10% Ethenol to the mix up from 5%.
There's a sticker on the fuel cap door of my C3 Aircross 2020, that reads E5:E10 to show it's ok to use.
Most cars built after 2001 are able to accept it.

At the moment round here Sainsbury's is one of the cheapest stations at 125.9/litre. The Sainsbury's in Chichester is 128.9 and at Tangmere the Esso station is 140.9 for the same stuff. Personally I think that is a rip off.

I stopped using supermarket petrol last year, and I swear the car feels as though it runs better.

It's not just being put in supermarket fuel but ALL fuel.
I found no difference in the performance or mpg using BP or ESSO super over normal, just more money out of pocket.

.......CO2 is one of the greenhouse gases that contribute to climate change and the main benefit of E10 petrol is that it reduces overall levels of CO2-based vehicle emissions.

By blending petrol with up to 10% renewable ethanol, less fossil fuel is needed, helping us reduce carbon emissions and meet climate change targets.

The introduction of E10 petrol at UK forecourts could cut transport CO2 emissions by 750,000 tonnes a year – the equivalent of taking 350,000 cars off the road, or all the cars in North Yorkshire.

So the question is why not go to 15% and in effect get rid if more cars and reduce the need to go electric or am I missing something.

I wasn’t suggesting it was only in supermarket petrol. I was just saying that my car seems to run better on fuel from a branded filling station, rather than from a supermarket.

Although in theory you could, but unless the engines will need to be compatible with the fuel. That may not be that easy.

So you would happily drive all non E10 compatible cars off the road? What a bland world we would live in!

It’s dead easy to remove the ethanol, you can do it at home overnight.

I didn't say that at all. The gov site gave the vehicle numbers.
I was suggesting that if 5% took the equivalent off 350k off then another 5% would take 700k. So why not do that instead of going electric and polluting with lithium batteries.
There will still be non Etholnol fuel for those that can't use it. As 1990 is the cut off they will be 30 years old sand therefore classics.
