I decided that I'd like a voltmeter in my C3 Aircross but didn't want to cut holes in panels to mount the display. I bought a motorcycle digital display off Wish. To use it I took a spare phone charger power plug that fits in the power socket/cigar lighter. This was a 6v unit so I opened it up and deactivated the PCB. Then I soldered the meter leads on the PCB +12V and return. The voltmeter comes with a double-sided adhesive pad. This was stuck on the plug and the meter stuck on the pad after making sure it would not foul the centre consul sides.
Turned on ign and with the engine off the volts today read 12.4V. Started engine and after a slight delay the voltage shows 14.8v at 1500 rpm. On the open road during a test run it read 15v.
Once the stop start cut in the readout dropped to 12.6 with the radio and heater fan running. Switching off the heater fan it increased by 0.1v.
I paid £8 for the meter. Being plug in it can be removed. When a powered item needs the source.
Voltmeter
True but I enjoyed the conversion and it whiled away some time. Fantastic value those are though.

I fitted one of these in place of the charger socket on my C3 Picasso, currently have on in my MX5 too.
Good bit of kit, and gives you an extra USB socket for charging etc
