When it arrives, I might do a 'How To' guide for when I hard wire it in, which may help others if deciding to do it themselves.
Dash Cams
Yes, thanks - I clocked that too. This one is the new model and takes up to 128 Gb cards. I've looked at a few videos of the picture quality, but that was mostly on the older preceding model this replaced which has the same model number it seems.
Saw that Russ, unfortunately the Aircross fusebox is on the right hand side on RHD models, so will require removing the switch panel to get to the fuses. I'll take the end dash panel off too to provide better access.
He's done a few of these and I used a similar process on my last one.

Of course, I was looking at the top diagram for a LHD and thought of the switch banks on the right
That makes it very much the same job as I did on the last car then. All I need now is for the kit to arrive.

Just to add my experience. I decided to use a dashcam after someone reversed out of a parking space and hit me. This happened in late 2014. I bought Nextbase, and then had no end of trouble because the memory card would fill and it wouldn't start over-writing the earlier files. This resulted in the camera stopping working and the memory cards being unusable. Nothing I did could delete the files or format the card.
The next I used were Mio. The earlier one was a narrow screen one which was fine. The later one is a wide screen one which is generally ok, apart from an odd quirk. When you drive through an area with overhead trees, the camera keeps showing 'recording commencing' or similar, and the files are extremely short. It is fine outside wooded areas.
You have to be careful with any camera, as garages do not like the camera recording when they are working on the car, so they are liable to be disconnected. This happened to me when we left our car in an airport car park. When we came back late at night, I realised that the camera was not on and had to stop to reconnect it. Later in the journey this happened.
I could suggest that if I hadn't had to stop to reconnect the camera this wouldn't have happened!

I'd just like to add my experience of this company based on the Snooper 4Zero Elite GPS Speed Camera / Radar system. They used the Aura database for their updates. Cost me £200+ a couple of years ago with free Aura Speed camera database updates for life. Come this December, they have just decided they are no longer providing Aura updates and tried to flog me a half price Angel system! I've publicly shamed them on several platforms for making my system redundant and lying. Phase International took over Snooper and also own Road Angel. I suspect you'll be fine this being a dash camera only. I'll avoid them on principle from now over the way they have treated customers.

Well that was a non-starter!
The Dash Cam arrived today and takes a USB C connector (the oval rounded edge type), so the hard wiring kit I bought was also useless and has been returned.
As for the camera, once I opened it up, out drops a card offering free gifts in exchange for a 5 star Amazon review!
One gift for a 5 star review and 2 free gifts if you include a video as part of the review. Gifts include an Amazon Gift Voucher, a GPS module and something else I forget now - so having felt unduly influenced and the likelihood that a high percentage of the 5 star reviews on Amazon are fake / not genuine / or buyers have received inducements for them, I contacted Amazon to complain.
They are taking this up with the seller and have paid all return costs for shipping for me - so that's 2 items winging their way back to Amazon tomorrow!
So when I've recovered the will to live, I will start the whole search over again. I just wish there was a clamp down on all this Chinese junk flooding the markets over here.
