Adding Android Auto to media system

I have the same problem. I connected my phone by wire but nothing happened with auto connect. Im pretty sure that is not supported and it is rediculous in an 8 inch touch screen to not have these features. Plus i dont have front and rear camera and i wish to install somehow, i dont have start button engine and i plug one but nothing happened. Im disappointed with all that. If you can help i would apreciate.thank you

This thread is over 9 mths old, since then I connect my phone(must by android 6 or newer) to car with a decent USB cable, android auto shows up and i use the Omnia app to play music off phone.
