The fact that it didn't do this for the first 4 months of ownship, on a new car, suggests it's not normal. It happens in any situation on any road surface. I've had my wheel re-aligned as they were out slightly and it hasn't made any difference.

It happens more when the weather turns cold. The tyres get harder in the cold and don't flex as much. Didnt I say that already.

My car, Aircross C3, 2019, 22 month old, 12000 miles has been doing that since around End of November
Tyres/wheels feel like they are going to drop of.
Started on full lock and got steadily worse when turning corners,
Contacted my Citroen dealer Arnold Clark Edinburgh who checked the vehicle over under Citroen warranty.
They found both front shock absorbers were at fault.
They have booked the car in to have this and other small warranty work carried out

Yes, it certainly shouldn't have been getting worse. Did they say what was wrong with the suspension?

They diagnosed problems in both front shock absorbers/struts, that’s all that was said.
I had taken it to a friends garage previously to that to ask what he thought, he said it was definitely a suspension fault.

My 68 reg Aircross started doing this at 16000 miles in November, it was originally worse on reverse and sounded like i had something stuck underneath that the car was clunking by, it was into dealership pre Christmas. They diagnosed shock absorbers under warranty and it was repaired early January. I got it back and although loads better definitely still does, although intermittently. It's been back in today and they couldn't replicate the fault, as soon as I got home and reversed into my parking space it done it again. They said they had checked everything and all was well but I have never had a car do this before. Weird! Aircross 1.2 Flair Red 68 plate

It definitely is a suspension/steering problem, since it started last November my steering alignment has gone off.
I’ve had the alignment done/checked and it’s spot on, but steering wheel still sits off centre.
That is going to get done again after the new shocks are fitted.
I know that certain Mercedes and Porsche models have the same problem, buyer’s purchasing certain brand new cars complained of tyre judder and jumping,
Porsche actually tell buyers that there could be a certain amount of wheel judder. ( can’t remember which model)

What a cop-out! Not really acceptable in my opinion, that smacks of a can't be bothered attitude - so `we'll just tell everyone it's normal'!

I have had this problem for about 5 months now, dealership changed shock absorbers under warranty which made no difference whatsoever. I took it to a great local garage and he said it's down to it having 17"alloys with low profile tyres on. It doesn't do it when the tyres are new as the grip is better but once it gets to 17k miles ish and the tread is possibly 5mm or lower then the issue will start as the road grip isn't as good. To solve it change your tyres more often. Scary issue imo but really common. Problem being it's so common car manufacturers consider it normal. I wonder if a normal profile tyre will fit in the gap.... probs not

Does swapping tyres front to rear make any difference?
