Afternoon everyone!
I have just been quoted a charge of £140 as a diagnostic fee from Croxdale Citroen to look at the adjustment of the tailgate lock when it goes in for its 2 year service.
Dealer refused to contact citroen to see if such a lock adjustment is covered on my Citroen warranty.

Does anyone know if this is covered by the warranty or have any experience of such charges being made?

It seems to be a mechanical fault to me - I've seen the tailgate move out jump out after closing it. Sick of having to pull over to slam shut after I've driven off!!

Update from late yesterday.

I received a phone call from the dealership's MD after submitting an official complaint to the dealership earlier in the afternoon.

Very apologetic, but blamed "misinterpretation" of dealership's policy on receptionist who took my call!

Also claimed that "dealership expansion to include sales of all of Stellantis brands "had lead to a temporary lowering of customer service, as they are experiencing a lot of calls from customers now coming to the dealership with repairs that other dealerships have refused to deal with ???

This has resulted in the £140 upfront diagnostic fee being introduced to deter these customers and free up garage time time for regular customers such as myself who are not receiving the customer service that we should expect!!!

Positive outcome for myself as £140 diagnostic charge now dropped, lock will be investigated and repaired or adjusted at no cost under warranty and a £15 courtesy car fee for my visit has been dropped, but what about the "New" customers contacting the dealership over servicing and warranty repairs ??

Surely this dealership should be extending the same levels of customer care to all customers wether old or new?

Just goes to prove that if you think something isn't right, stick to your guns, complain and stand your ground until you get the right result. I really feel sorry for the receptionsidt here.

After pressing the button on our C5 Aircross tailgate, intermittently the tailgate will start to rise then it stops. Then have to use key fob to get it to continue. Also, the foot gesture feature rarely works.

Dealer has not been able to fix either and suggests that the dealer fitted towbar (which is aftermarket) might be causing the problem/s.

In terms of the foot gesture, can anyone advise precisely where the sensor is located and whether there is scope to move it slightly? I thought that might help overcome interference/obstruction caused by towbar?

Any feedback on both problems much appreciated. Thanks.
