At least you know it hasn't been sat on an airfield somewhere for months.

Yes Beanie. That's the main thing I was worried about. I'm also hoping it has everything it's supposed to have, I.e 17"alloys, head up display, armrest, 9" screen, sat nav, and stop/start, and the split level boot. These apparently differentiate between the Shine and Shine plus.

Sounds like the 2020 Flair version that I have.
With the head up display came improved sound system with sub woofer in right hand boot panel and wireless phone charger in place if front centre cup holders.

Unfortunately not, if you are referring to the new C3 Aircross model. Models produced as of 4th Jan 2022, the HiFi, subwoofer, colour binnacle matrix and Heads Up Display are NOT standard equipment on the Shine Plus, nor is the Semi Automatic self- Parking feature.

These are extra option packs, so will only be included on your vehicle if you specified and paid for either the 'Sight & Sound' or 'Park Assist' packs. Sorry to disappoint you, but better if you are aware of that now rather than when you get it.

never ordered the sound pack or the park assist as we didn't want them, all we ordered was the optional colour of the car. i was under the impression that the head up was standard on top speck, oh well, looks like it's something else they have taken off.

Ordered C5 Aircross Shine 1.2 automatic in December. I’ve been warned it may not be here until august yet the new one has been announced with preorders of “spring delivery” according to some car mags.

If I see new ones driving around while I’m waiting on mine I think I’ll be cancelling. I understand there is challenges just now, but I was initially told March for delivery

Yes, that's the option and cost. At least you know now.

The reason for new car delays is due to a a global shortage of microchips.

The pandemic first of all meant factories cut back production over the last 2 years and secondly because of the lockdown it led to a heavy consumer demand of electrical goods for the home, which as many of you will know meant there was a huge shortage of white goods like washing machines, fridges, microwaves and home entertainment goods. But sales of laptops and gaming consoles and phones skyrocketed.

As demand increased they couldn't produce enough and specifically the ones used in the car industry. When you think of all the electronics in a modern car there is a huge demand for these and they can't get enough. IIRC Peugeot even went to far as to replace the digital display in the 3008 with the old analogue versions!

So this is not a unique situation to the Stallantis group, but to most manufacturers. If you pull out now, you are likely to find a similar situation with other manufacturers, so best sit tight.
