Hi.
I have a 2020 C5 Aircross, 1,5 diesel automatic, and I'm very dissatisfied about the sound of the stereo in this car.
On max volume, I can easily talk to the guy sitting next to me in the front seat.

I went to the Citroen dealer, tested also another C5 Aircross, but the same there
The dealer have no options for me, but agree about the very low sound. They also sell Mitsubitchi and Opel, and they have a lot better sound.

Anyone have an Idea about what to do?
Is there really nothing to do about this?
(Just had a long drive in a 2006 Nissan Primera, sound a lot better in that car.)
I found that Focal have an upgrad about the speakers, (Focal IS PSA 165 and Focal IC PSA 165) but not sure about that the sound will be any higher/better.

I drive 50 000 km a year and like to listen to music when I drive... :-)

Anyone have an idea if there is possible to do anything to improve the sound?

I have the same car and the volume seems fine on mine (I have never turned it up to max) - one thing I do notice is when in streaming music from my phone via blue tooth the volume can be low, but that is fixed by turning up the volume on the phone itself so its balanced with the onboard radio etc.

Have you got the auto volume set to on. IIRC it's in the audio page sound settings.

Hi vikingdriver58, hopefully you'll get some more responses from C5 owners here, but whilst the volume level on my C3 Aircross is fine, I'm also quite unimpressed with the audio quality. You might not want to do this on a new/nearly new vehicle, but if you can find a car audio specialist who can do upgrades, it would be worth talking to them. I really like Citroen/Peugeot cars and wouldn't change, but the audio is a weak point in my opinion - I'm switching to a nearly new Grand C4 Spacetourer soon, and a few months ago I pre-empted my possible dissatisfaction with the radio by contacting a specialist who should be able to upgrade the speakers from around GBP200.

I mentioned on another thread recently that I couldn't understand why the audio quality on our Peugeot 108 (i.e. basically a C1) is better than the C3 Aircross - I've since worked out that it's because it's a Toyota unit, not PSA!

@vikingdriver58 - today I accidentally set the balance of my speakers to 100% rear at which point the volume was pretty much as you described, did you try:
1. Music Icon
2. Options
3 Sound
4 Tone
5 Reset
6 Reset Again

I have the same problem I've a citreon c5 aircross c max white and the stereo is shite. I've took the side panel off were the toggle switch is for the auto gears and all the wires run down in there for the speakers. Me I jumped in with a 4 channel amp and hay presto much louder but the speakers in the doors ain't that great so looking to change them next. Hope this helps. Oh I also run a 4000 amp and subwoofer as I love to feel the music as well as listen.

Not sure it is the cause, but the entertainment system "remembers" different volumes for each type of use
E.g. Radio, Android auto, Sat nav.
You need to make sure that each volume is adjusted as it is used, so if the sat nav cuts in, adjust the volume, when back on the radio, adjust again, etc
I couldn't work out why my Android auto was so quite, but it was because this volume was adjusted low (automatically) by the car when a phone call came in.

Hi mate, I'm loving the idea of adding an amp and a sub..! Could you tell me what amp and sub you went for and how and where you installed them?

Best regards, Fergal

Just a quick comment have Yiu checked the speaker balance settings. I installed the car software update and found that the volume was rubbish. Looked thru the studio settings and found the balance had returned to it mid position. Slight adjustment to wards front. Now as I like it.
