To be honest I find that there being no OFF position on the stalk to be a bit short sighted by design.

It's nothing to do with design - rather a requirement under EU legislation since 2011

Isn't that for the running lights. My last 4 cars since 2011 (2 Jukes and 2 Capturs) had auto lights which could be turned off.

Yes so did my 2017 C3 MK3 hatchback.
Stalk positions were:
OFF
AUTO
Side
Main/dip.

The requirement must be to do with something else. If this were true, the 2017 on version of the C3 would not have an off position. It is possible that this requirement came in after 2017 but does not require car types already in production to comply.

My 2018 C4 Cactus also has an "Off" position for the lights.

The DLR lights (front & rear) are constantly illuminated n the "off" position.

Because there are times when driving in daylight that the lights come on. In my case under the A27 on the roundabout just south of Havant. If you are stopped at the lights and you are under the A27 they come on. The dash goes dim and the car in front gets annoyed. There are other times in multistorey car parks that it happens.

It been a while since any discussion on this subject. Did anyone find a cure for the daytime flashing headlight issue? I also have the fan speed switch affecting the headlights like some others had.

Regards

I've got this happening on my Aircross now.....only when hot and sunny like the sensor doesn't like the heat so it throws a wobble.

The same issue with just lights off and on, off and on.

Trouble is, I really don't have time to take it to the dealership for them to give me the strap line " we can't replicate the problem, so can't do anything about it" - especially if the day I take it to them happens to be cooler / non sunny.

Sometimes, I find the dealers hard to communicate-with; and not particularly tuned-in to caring much for the customer ( grrr )

Time and energy !!

Keen when they sold me the car, but not so much once your driving down the road.

I'll opt for leaving the lights in ' side lights' mode, to try to disconnect the 'auto' bit.
