What is the issue? Has the chain snapped or is it making the noises? If it is making the noises, then the damage is probably already done, so the other components specified in the technical article would need replacing when the chain is upgraded to an 8MM one.

Hello,
I was thinking about buying Citroen C5 aircross with 1.5diesel engine. I heard about this issue and it got my mind all messed up. Can you please help me and check if the C5 that I`m planning on buying has this issue or not.

Your C5 AC is a 2019 model so has the 7MM camshaft belt.

I think at this point I should say that there have been relatively few issues of the camshaft chain actually failing that we are aware of in reality. So I don't think we should be overly concerned. My dealership has only had 2 instances, one being a commercial vehicle and I can't remember the other.

hello,
thanks for the answer.
Is it possible to change 7mm belt to 8mm belt as part of regular service? Some sort of preventive maintenance. Do you have any idea what would something like that cost?

No, not really as it involves changing all the other parts as specified in the main bulletin earlier in this thread.
