14 months into ownership and not ever had this problem. I use it to confirm the car is locked from a distance so I know that I check this.

ON an auto C5 Aircross, applying the handbrake keeps engine running, and footbrake can be released.
Pressing the 'P' button causes engine stop to function whilst gear is disengaged and brakes are released (and high level brakelight is off).
