Re: Which disk format should I use for USB

The unpacking process should create a folder called (if my memory is correct) SWL, which contains several sub-folders and files. This SWL folder should then be copied onto a clean, newly formatted USB3 stick. I find it better to unpack onto my PC hard drive, then copy the SWL folder and it’s content...

Re: Map updates ??

Not necessarily!! Download the “My Citroen” app onto your mobile phone, and once you’ve registered with your VIN you will get a notification whenever a map or touchscreen update is available for your system.

Re: Which disk format should I use for USB

Yeah, understood, same principle for both map and touchscreen updates, the system can take a couple of minutes to fully load after startup. One other point, is yours a USB3 stick? It needs to be, won’t work with USB2.

Re: Which disk format should I use for USB

Forgot to mention, for the benefit of those who have done everything correctly, but still get an error message when you insert the stick in the car, be patient when you start the engine and allow the touchscreen system to fully load before inserting the stick. This is indicated by the words/icon “To...

Re: Which disk format should I use for USB

The update file which you download to your computer has the extension “.rar” which means it is a number of files and folders all packed into one large folder to facilitate download. Think of it as a large suitcase containing a number of small items. As you state, Windows doesn’t allow the transfer o...

Re: Map updates ??

That really is strange! The disappearing message about no media files is normal and nothing to worry about, but it should then go on to instal the update. Can you insert the USB stick back into your PC’s USB port and check via Windows Explorer what the stick contains. If successfully “extracted” fro...

Re: Map updates ??

Hi Mike,
Was it a USB 3 stick? This seems to be a requirement, didn’t work for me on USB 2.
Did you wait for the Touchscreen/TomTom to fully boot before inserting the stick?
When you say “ nothing there when inserted”, what exactly do you mean? Did you get any error message on the screen?

Re: Touch Screen Software Updates

Apart from the fact that some new users don’t appreciate that the downloaded update file is an “archive file” and it has to be “extracted” (using unzipping software on a PC, or via berkinet’s above guidance for a Mac), the critical requirements for a successful update appear to be:- 1. Use a USB3 st...

Re: Wait times for C3 aircross

Just got back from a week’s holiday in France and didn’t see a single Aircross whilst there! What’s going on in the Citroen factory??

Re: Map updates ??

Nice one, Alan, and from my own experience I think the critical requirement is, as you say, to wait until the navigation system fully loads before inserting the USB stick. Patience is a virtue, so wait until the TomTom icon appears in the bottom-right corner of the screen!!
