The only way to connect wirelesssly to CarPlay is WiFi, but the car is not equipped with the proper receiver. This is what the dongle does.

The battery has 2 terminals of course, but only the + positive terminal is accessible, and there is a reason for this ("smart" battery charging). Connect the -negative terminal to the engine mount for charging or jump starting.
