Re: Eb2 engine timing belt

I only ever fit OEM timing belts, false economy to do otherwise. The HDi was a bit more complicated because you needed more locking pins due to timing the diesel pump.
I read somewhere (need to dig it out) that Citroen check the belts during service by measuring the width of the belt.

Re: Eb2 engine timing belt

Changing a timing belt is not difficult, I did both belt and water pump on my C3 Picasso 1.6 Hdi, hardest job was removing the belt cover.
The Aircross looks far simpler, uses the same tensioner, and the cam locking tool is easily fabricated.

Re: First service and warranty jobs.

I must admit I miss the grunt of my old 1.6Hdi. I used to drive from Spain to UK at lest twice a year, it ate the miles and gave just over 60mpg on average. The pure tech engine may have 110 bhp on paper, but it’s gutless. I have now moderated my driving style accordingly and proceed in a manner com...

Re: First service and warranty jobs.

Question for chilipepper, re:- It's one of the main reasons that put me off getting a petrol, so stuck to the diesel (which also has it's share of Adblue problems of course) How many miles do you do per annum? low mileage was the reason I got rid of my C3 Picasso 1.6Hdi, DPF and additive work...

Re: First service and warranty jobs.

When reading service items the other day I noted that one was to “check width of timing belt”, now I know why.

Re: First service and warranty jobs.

One thing on the bill was the cost of the 3.5 litres of oil, £62. Then I did a search on the net and found the oil they had used and yes it's that price. When first did my own car maint on mini's, Duckhams 20/50 was £5 for 5 litres. Mmmm, Duckhams, green goodness, I used to swear by it. I used Tota...

Re: Memorising speeds

When I interrogated the system it said there was no software update available.
I am more than happy with it as is, I do not intend ever using the crappy Citroen satnav so the guidance bug will not affect me, and I have not encountered any if the other faults.

Re: Dash Cams

The reason I posted the video was to show the deployment of the side curtain airbags, they expand downwards from above the doors, with the bag pushing against the body of the car( equal and opposite reaction etc) the door seal where my cable runs is against the metal and behind the airbag. Therefore...
